چکیده

Abstract Spectral computed tomography (CT) imaging is one of several image reconstruction techniques based on the use dual-layer CT. The intensity and attenuation radiation are measured in relation to different wavelengths, such a procedure results complex three-dimensional (3D) (pseudo) color adjustment soft tissue. This paper compares true non-contrast (TNC) enhanced images with virtual (VNC) ones. Virtual native acquired by means spectral tomography, it has been suggested that VNCs could potentially substitute real reduce significantly total dose from multiphase A comparison was performed defining certain parameters represent difference between calculated values images. included mean value standard deviation number, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), contrast-to-noise (CNR). All these items were analyzed via statistical tests using p -value. interpreted correlated those presented other authors, who, however, did not make an examination comprehensive basis - five tissues simultaneously single device. Prospectively, if analogies found two types images, would be possible skip TNC image, thus markedly reducing for patient.

Radiotherapy treatment planning with contrast-enhanced computed tomography: feasibility of dual-energy virtual unenhanced imaging for improved dose calculations

BACKGROUND In radiotherapy treatment planning, intravenous administration of an iodine-based contrast agent during computed tomography (CT) improves the accuracy of delineating target volumes. However, increased tissue attenuation resulting from the high atomic number of iodine may result in erroneous dose calculations because the contrast agent is absent during the actual procedure. The purpos...

Coronary calcium quantification using contrast‐enhanced dual‐energy computed tomography scans

The purpose of this study is to evaluate a direct measure of calcium burden by using dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) during contrast-enhanced coronary imaging, potentially eliminating the need for an extra noncontrast X-ray acquisition. The ambiguity of separation of calcium from contrast material on contrast-enhanced images was solved by using virtual noncontrast images obtained by DECT...
